Havana is a deep, dark chocolate brown – a traditional British bridle shade that can appear close to black in some lighting.
Light Vitrail is one of those crystal colours that genuinely surprises people the first time they see it in person. In a bright arena it reads as a cool, shimmering silver-blue. Take it outside into natural light and warm pink, lilac and aqua tones start coming through. That constant colour-shifting is what makes all-Light Vitrail work so well — there’s real depth to it even though you’re working with a single crystal throughout all five rows.
This is a ¾ inch, five-row browband: one row of 6mm Preciosa Maxima chatons through the centre, edged top and bottom by two rows each of 3mm Preciosa Maxima chatons. All five rows are Light Vitrail, all set in silver-plated cup chain. The effect is wide, full, and genuinely eye-catching — exactly what a five-row browband should be.
All crystals are Preciosa Maxima Point Back chatons — the premium Czech crystal with a precise facet cut that maximises light return. The crystals are set in silver-plated cup chain (the metal settings that hold each crystal in place) and are attached onto luxury, English Sedgwick bridle leather. Sedgwick leather is vegetable-tanned, produced in Birmingham, and widely regarded as the finest bridle leather available in the UK. It’s what good saddlery is made from, and it’s what I use for every browband.
Silver-plated settings are the only finish I offer for this browband. Light Vitrail is a cool-toned crystal and antique brass would pull warm and golden against those pink, blue and lilac tones rather than complement them. Silver is simply the right setting for this design.
The blue-lilac palette of Light Vitrail coordinates well with grey, white and steel-coloured saddle pads — it picks up the blue and silver tones beautifully against those backgrounds. On a grey or dapple grey horse it really comes into its own.
It also pairs well with the softer colourways from LeMieux and Equestrian Stockholm — think silver grey, powder blue, or any of the cooler neutral tones. The pink tones that come through in certain lights make it a surprisingly good match for blush and dusty rose saddle pads too — it’s a more versatile browband than the blue-silver first impression suggests. If you ride in white show coats or pale blue competition shirts, this browband will complement rather than compete.
On dark horses — dark bays, blacks, dark chestnuts — the silver-blue catches the light in a way that reads as clean and striking rather than showy.

Using only quality materials your browband will be made bespoke for your horse, please allow two weeks for your order to be created (can take longer in bust times or due to postal strikes ect). Once your custom browband is ready, we dispatch it via Royal Mail 24hr Tracked & Signed for UK orders, and International Tracked & Signed for orders outside the UK, ensuring secure and swift delivery. We aim to get your custom piece to you as quickly as possible, but please note that delivery times may vary, particularly during peak periods. The United States has recently updated how parcels from the UK are handled. The old low-value allowance has been removed, which means all commercial parcels now require duty and full customs processing on arrival.
To keep things straightforward for you, all US orders from Unicorn Browbands are sent through Royal Mail’s Postal Delivery Duties Paid (PDDP) service. This means the import duty and Royal Mail’s clearance fee are paid in advance, and the amount you see at checkout already includes these costs.
• Your parcel should arrive without any extra fees being requested at delivery.
• The customs label shows the PDDP mark which confirms duty has been prepaid.
• If anything unexpected ever happens, please get in touch and we will help sort it out.
These rules came into effect in 2025 and apply to all UK businesses sending goods to the USA, regardless of parcel value. We use PDDP so that everything is handled ahead of time and your order can travel smoothly through customs.
