All Unicorn Browbands products are handmade to order. Many items are created specifically to a customer’s chosen size, colour, and design selections.
Because of this, most items sold by Unicorn Browbands are classed as bespoke or personalised goods under UK consumer law.
This policy explains when returns or refunds are possible and when they are not. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.

Bespoke & Made-to-Order Items
The following items are made to order and cannot be returned or refunded if you change your mind:
- Horse browbands
- Dog collars and leads
- Bracelets
- Necklaces
- Custom or personalised accessories
These items are exempt from the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, as they are made to the consumer’s specifications.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Custom sizes
- Selected crystal colours or arrangements
- Leather type or colour
- Metal finishes or fittings
Please check all measurements and selections carefully before placing your order. If you are unsure, contact us before ordering and we will be happy to advise.
Earrings & Hygiene Policy
Earrings are handmade and classed as hygiene-sensitive items.
For hygiene and safety reasons:
- Earrings are supplied sealed for hygiene protection
- Earrings cannot be returned or refunded once the hygiene seal has been broken, unless they are faulty
If the hygiene seal remains intact and the item is faulty or incorrect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply.
Faulty or Incorrect Items
Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are fully protected.
If an item is:
- Faulty
- Damaged in transit
- Not as described
- Made incorrectly compared to your confirmed order
you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund.
Timeframes under UK law
- You have a 30-day short-term right to reject faulty goods for a full refund
- After 30 days, you may be entitled to a repair or replacement
- If a repair or replacement is not possible or fails, a refund may be offered
What to do if there is a problem
Please contact us as soon as possible after discovering an issue, providing:
- Your order number
- A clear description of the issue
- Clear photographs showing the fault or error

Browbands & Wear
Browbands are designed for normal equestrian use when correctly fitted and cared for.
The following are not considered faults:
- Damage caused by rubbing, pulling, twisting, or excessive strain
- Damage caused by chewing, trampling or interference from the horse or other animals
- Damage caused by exposure to water, sweat, or moisture beyond normal use
- General wear and tear over time
Please do not leave your horse unattended whilst wearing your Unicorn Browband, as they can rub their heads and damage it on walls and doors.
As browbands are made to order, they are not eligible for return or refund due to sizing errors or design choices made at the time of ordering.
Dog Collars, Leads & Wear
Dog collars and leads are designed for normal pet use.
The following are not considered faults:
- Damage caused by chewing, scratching, or pulling
- Damage caused by incorrect fitting
- Damage caused by water exposure beyond normal use (if out in the rain, please remove and gently dry the collar once home)
- General wear and tear
As dog collars and leads are made to order, they are not eligible for return due to sizing errors made at the time of ordering.
Jewellery Wear & Care
Bracelets and necklaces are handcrafted and should be worn with care.
The following are not considered faults:
- Damage caused by pulling, snagging, or impact
- Tarnishing caused by moisture, perfumes, or chemicals
- Wear caused by incorrect storage
Please follow any care guidance provided with your item.
One-Year Repair Warranty (Browbands)
Unicorn Browbands offers a one-year repair warranty on browbands from the date of delivery.
This warranty is offered in recognition that horses can be hard on their equipment, and that occasional crystal loss or minor issues can happen even with careful use.
During the warranty period, we are happy to carry out free repairs where the issue is consistent with normal use, helping to keep your browband secure, comfortable for your horse, and looking its best.
What the Repair Warranty Is Intended to Cover
The repair warranty is intended to support:
- Occasional crystal loss
- Minor movement or loosening of crystal chains
- Small repairs needed to maintain the original design and finish
Each repair is assessed individually so that the most appropriate solution can be offered.
When a Repair May Fall Outside the Warranty
In some cases, a browband may require more extensive restoration work to return it to a safe and presentable condition. This can include situations where the browband shows signs of prolonged heavy wear, significant deformation, or deterioration requiring a partial or full rebuild.
In these situations, we will always discuss the options with you first and, where appropriate, provide a quote for any additional work required.
Repairs Outside the Warranty Period
Browbands outside the one-year repair warranty period are eligible for a paid repair or restoration service, subject to inspection.
Costs depend on the extent of the work required and will always be agreed in advance.
Sale & Clearance Items
- Bespoke and made-to-order items purchased during a sale or promotion remain non-returnable, unless faulty
- If any ready-to-ship, non-bespoke items are sold on clearance, standard UK consumer cancellation rights will apply
Return Postage for Faulty Items
If a return is agreed due to a fault or error on our part:
- We will confirm the return process with you
- Reasonable return postage costs will be covered
Please do not return any item without contacting us first. Unauthorised returns may be refused.

This Returns & Refunds Policy is written in accordance with UK consumer legislation, including:
