As we can accept your order and make a legally enforceable agreement without further reference to you, you must read
these terms and conditions to make sure that they contain all that you want and nothing that you are not happy with.

These Terms and Conditions set out the rights and obligations between you (the Customer) and Angela Taylor trading as Unicorn Browbands, 2 Elm Grove, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire DN16 2EP, United Kingdom (“Unicorn Browbands”, “we”, “us”). Please read them carefully before placing an order. By completing the checkout, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Important – all items are bespoke
Every Unicorn Browbands product is made to order to your chosen size, leather, crystal colour and finish. This means all orders are Bespoke Goods under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The statutory 14‑day cancellation right for distance sales does not apply. Our goodwill cancellation policy is in section 9.

1  Definitions

2  Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and acting wholly or mainly outside your trade, business, craft, or profession (i.e. as a consumer).

3  Description of Goods and Services

All descriptions, photographs, and swatches on the Website are for illustrative purposes. Natural leather grain, colour, crystal shade and monitor display can cause minor variations. Our brown leather is a traditional British dark havana a similar shade to black chocolate, the dark havana tone that can appear almost black in some lighting or on certain screens; such perceived shade differences are inherent to the material and do not constitute a fault or grounds for return.

4  How a Contract is formed

  1. Your online checkout constitutes an offer.
  2. The Contract is formed only when we email the Order Confirmation.
  3. We will not be obliged to supply any goods that were mistakenly priced or described on the Website.

5  Prices, Deposits, and Payment

  1. Prices are stated in pounds sterling and include VAT (if applicable).
  2. Orders are payable in full at checkout unless you select an approved pay‑later option (Klarna, ClearPay or AfterPay).
  3. If you use a pay‑later option, your instalment schedule is governed by your agreement with that provider; we will begin production once the provider confirms your first payment.
  4. We accept major credit/debit cards, PayPal, Klarna, ClearPay and AfterPay. We reserve the right to withhold delivery until full payment has cleared or the pay‑later provider confirms completion of payment.

6  Lead Times & Delivery

  1. Current lead times are indicated on the Website (normally 2 to 3 weeks for Bespoke Goods). They are estimates; time is not of the essence unless we agree in writing.
  2. Delivery is by Royal Mail or courier to the address you supply.
  3. Risk passes to you upon delivery. Title passes when we have received full payment.

7  International Orders

We ship world‑wide. Around one‑third of our orders are delivered to customers in the USA and Australia, and we welcome orders from most other countries. International shipping charges are calculated at checkout, and you are responsible for any local taxes, customs duties or import fees.

8  Cancellation Rights (Bespoke Goods)

All Unicorn Browbands items are Bespoke Goods. Under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the statutory 14‑day right to cancel for distance sales does not apply. Section 9 below sets out our goodwill cancellation terms.

  1. 24‑hour grace period. You may cancel within 24 hours of placing the order for a full refund.
  2. After 24 hours. We will have begun sourcing materials. If we agree to a cancellation:
  • we will retain the 30 % deposit or
  • deduct our direct cost of materials already purchased (whichever is greater) and refund any balance paid.
  1. Once production is underway no further cancellation is possible.

10  Warranty and After‑Sales Service

  1. We guarantee workmanship and materials for 12 months from delivery.
  2. This warranty does not cover misuse, accidental damage (for example, a browband left on an unattended horse), or unauthorised alterations.
  3. To claim, contact us with photos and proof of purchase; we will repair or replace at our discretion.
  4. After the warranty period, we can repair your browband or collar for the cost of replacement materials plus a £15 labour fee.
  5. Postage for repairs – If the repair is required due to damage outside the scope of this warranty, you are responsible for both sending the item to us and the return postage. If the repair or replacement is for a manufacturing fault accepted under warranty, Unicorn Browbands will cover reasonable outward and return postage costs.

11  Returns of Faulty Goods  Returns of Faulty Goods

If an item is faulty or not as described, you have statutory rights to a repair, replacement, or refund. Please contact us within 30 days of delivery; we will cover reasonable return postage.

12  Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud or any matter that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we shall not be liable for: (a) losses not reasonably foreseeable at the time of Contract; (b) business losses.

13  Events Outside Our Control

If a force‑majeure event (e.g. postal strike) prevents us from performing, we will notify you promptly and our obligations will be suspended for the duration of the event.

14  Privacy

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

15  Complaints & ADR

We aim to resolve complaints within two Working Days. Contact: angela@unicornbrowbands.com. If we cannot resolve a dispute you may escalate it to the RetailADR scheme (www.retailadr.org.uk).

16  Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute are governed by the laws of England and Wales; the courts of England and Wales have non‑exclusive jurisdiction.
